For Mike Martin, the implications of this weekend’s series are simple. He doesn’t need many words to describe the significance of the opponent his Florida State Seminoles will face.
“It is Florida State-Miami,” Martin said. “That in itself is all that is necessary.”
Indeed, the Seminoles and Hurricanes will meet tonight at 6 p.m., for the first of three games at Dick Howser Stadium, renewing a long and storied rivalry that has been every bit as intense, passionate and competitive as FSU’s and UM’s duels on the football field.
